Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
(about the method, safety, and sensations)
How does acupuncture treatment work?

Acupuncture works by regulating imbalances in Qi (vital energy) through the precise insertion of very fine, sterile needles into specific points along meridians. Point selection is based on an individual Chinese medicine diagnosis. Treatment may be complemented with cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, or individualized herbal formulas.

Is acupuncture painful?

Acupuncture is generally gentle and well tolerated. Very fine needles are used, and points are often selected away from the area of pain. Ultra-fine needles are available for sensitive patients.

What reactions may occur after treatment?

You may experience deep relaxation, mild fatigue, or temporary detoxification reactions that usually resolve within 24 hours.

How is hygiene handled in the clinic?

In Jolanta Press’s clinic, hygiene and Zero Waste awareness go hand in hand. Needles are sterile and single-use; after use they are collected in special containers and sent for recycling. Jolanta washes her hands frequently and disinfects them before every treatment. For drying their hands, patients have cotton towels, which Jolanta washes herself in a hypoallergenic powder she makes herself. Only natural, ecological and simple cleaning products are used – no harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances. Outdoor shoes stay at reception, salt lamps create a calm atmosphere, and on hot days the air conditioning is on.

Treatment Expectations
(about the method, safety, and sensations)
What results can I expect and when will improvement occur?

Results depend on the type and duration of the condition. Acute issues often improve within 6–8 sessions. Chronic conditions require a longer, staged approach.

How often should treatments be scheduled?

Two to four sessions per week provide the fastest results. After improvement, maintenance sessions are recommended monthly or quarterly.

Is acupuncture a quick fix?

Acupuncture is not an instant solution. Lasting healing requires time and consistency.

First Visit
(visit process, preparation, and the patient’s role)
What happens during the first visit?

The first visit includes a comprehensive consultation, pulse and tongue diagnosis, and an initial acupuncture treatment.

The first visit takes 60–80 minutes.

Right after booking, you automatically receive an email with a link to the health history form. This makes the conversation during your visit shorter and more focused, leaving more time for the treatment itself.

How should I prepare for my first appointment?

Arrive early, avoid heavy meals, and wear comfortable clothing.

After the treatment, an hour of rest is recommended, and strenuous physical activity should be avoided for the rest of the day.
